-V73 PERSONAL SERVER 1-
Louise Powell is a mercenary hunter, not unlike Gwendy's father was before associating with the 73rs. Her voice is high and thin, but she spits her words with a tired and bitter venom, the weight of her rough passage through this world having taken it's toll.

Truths
- Deceptively Young: Slow, painfull growth stunted by radiation exposure and genetic drift. She is short of stature and high-voiced, often mistaken for a youth.
- Bitter: A hard fought life has taken its toll. Dwelling on the periphery of settlements with only her wits as company has left Louise hard-bit and rueful. How long can she withstand Gwendy's optimism?
- Experienced Hunter: Experienced hunting, and the Choice Cuts: As long as Louise is your traveling companion you gain the effects of the Butcher (Rank 1) perk.
Equipment
- Weather Worn "Deadeye" Rifle: Louise' signature firearm, worn from use.
- Weather Worn: Patched, taped, held together with care. It's scratched metal surface and silvery wooden stock still glimmer with charm.
- Scoped: Excellent at long-range combat, as well as seeing distant places safely.
- Rare: Weapons of this type are not easy to come by in the wastes and are rarely given up freely. Value 3
- Deathclaw Mask: A terrifying trophy and symbol of a hunter's guile. Worn above a ragged sarape, the large-horned bone mask is the Hunter's preferred face when away from the privacy of her home.
NOTES: Use the above Truth descriptions when adjusting the difficulty of related skill checks. Consider where Louise is described as being in relation to the Player Character when adjusting: Is she watching Gwendy interact from afar? Is she threatening Foes with her rifle and helmet on? How does she behave or dress while they are in settlements? How does her bitter attitude influence conversations?
NPC SECRET
At character generation we are told that Powell meets secretly with someone in the area. The details surrounding this are currently unknown but will likely be revealed before she and Gwendy leave The Bluffs.
Description and History
Louise is a mutated human, her genes warped by the weird radiation left over by the bombs. Her growth and apparent age are severely stunted, progressing slowly over time and leaving her with a deceptively youthful appearance, at least at a distance. Because of her physical state she's lived through great hardship which expresses herself in bitter mannerisms and a general inability to trust and see the good in people. She doesn't make allies easily and rarely keeps friends as they are just one more thing to lose in a long life of tragedy.
Her mutation causes her a constant burning ache, the mirror of 'growing pains' actual youth often suffer as their bones and muscles elongate with the natural process of aging. These pains lead her to drugs and alcohol, violence and other vices. The density of her form comes with a few advantages such as a hearty constitution for toxins and damage that would smite a regular base-line human. She'd likely trade the ups for the chance at a regular life in a normal body.
The Corner family of hunters saving her from the predations of a Yao Guai came with no strings attached, something she was unprepared to experience again in the wastes. Now she seeks to pay them back for saving her life and has left a holotape in the safe zone they left her in years ago. A long shot that just might pay off with the arrival of the Corner's daughter Gwendy now exploring the area.
Events
- Five years ago (aprox) Louise produces and leaves a holotape at the Pinegrail Lodge which is found by Gwendy Corner shortly after leaving Fort 73.
- Louise meets Gwendy and has the head of the Pinegrail Yao Guai returned to her, offering to exchange it for her Deadeye hunting rifle.
- Gwendy refuses to take the rifle, instead asking for any information about where her Parents might have gone, or the location of any known radio transmitters.
- Louise is touched by the goodwill from the Corner family, and sensing that Gwendy's naïveté is a liability in the Wastes, she offers to accompany her on her travels for an unspecified length of time or distance.
- The evening they first meet is punctuated by celebratory drinking and tale-telling, something of a bonding experience. Though it is a rarity for Louise, she claims to never travel with anyone who won't share a drink with her.
