Jennifer and Nathan Corner met a few years after Vault 73 opened their door and began to forage the surrounding area for food.

Raised on tales of the Pioneer Scouts that helped settle the underground community, Jennifer Corner eagerly explored the forest surrounding the vault and Fort 73, attempting to use what she learned about hunting and trapping to bring food into the struggling community. It was on one such foray that the young woman first encountered a wanderer in a heavy leather jacket: Nathan (of no fixed address) Nate's knowledge of the wastes and friendly demeanor quickly endeared himself to the vault dweller and they formed a mutual alliance, increasing the precious protein needed by those living under ground.

Before long their connection became a deeply personal one of trust, respect and love. When Jennifer eventually petitioned to include Nathan as a new Vault Dweller, ritual trials were chosen for him to prove his dedication to the insular community. Passing these trials won him acceptance into their lives, first as a dweller and shortly after as Jennifer's husband, with Nate taking on Jennifer's family name of Corner. Not long after, they gave birth to their first and only child, Gwendolyn.

Together with Holden Barnsley the vault's communications officer, the Corners continued to hunt the area around Vault 73 until their mysterious disappearance, leaving Gwendolyn in the care of their friend and the rest of the vault community.
